Shelf with speakers

It seems that the trend these days is to combine absolutely different objects and devices trying not just to create something even more functional and useful, but to save the space as well. That's why some designers have recently started to incorporate speakers directly into furniture and fixtures. Jean Louis Frechin's new concept is a good example for this.

Designed gadget disguises computer speakers as shelf supports. The unit is described as "a shelf connected to a computer that doubles as a device for audio diffusion and archiving digital music files (MP3)"—but further details are scarce and the exact nature of the connection is unknown. It appears to be wireless, which would certainly be necessary for a wall fixture of this type. The design of the device is awesome, so it can help you a great deal to maintain high tech style of your room. Nothing said about the power of these speakers but it seems to be quite an ordinary one. The fact that it's impossible to place the speakers somewhere else (outside, for example), as they are attached to the wall, can be regarded as a small disadvantage.

Thus I think that this gadget represents quite a decent marketable concept. So those people, who love high tech things, hate wires and like seeing a lot of free space on their desktops will love it for sure.
